Every university below can receive CSC students directly through the Type B route. That single fact changes your funding odds far more than a ranking position.
A host university holds its own CSC quota and can nominate you. A non-host cannot, no matter how strong your file is.
The university has been allocated CSC places for the year. Your application competes inside that allocation rather than against the entire global pool.
In Type B, a department that wants you can push your file internally. This is the single strongest lever available to an applicant.
Admission and funding are submitted together. You are not admitted in April and left hunting for money in June.
Host status does not mean funded seats are available in your field this year, or that the quota has not already been committed.
